The Spanish Ministry of Defense declassifies several “UFO Files”

In 1991, a process of declassification of documents to the sightings of strange phenomena began. Which were called “U̳F̳O̳ Files”. Now, the Spanish Ministry of Defense has decided to declassify them and make them public.
You can already consult the various U̳F̳O̳ files, in about 1,900 pages. In them you can read about sightings of strange phenomena in Spanish airspace, where personnel or material from the Air Force intervenes.
U̳F̳O̳ files declassified
These documents cover phenomena that have occurred throughout Spanish airspace. They range from the first, observed in 1962, in San Javier, Murcia, to the last, dated 1995, in Moròn, Seville.
Some are sightings in a single place, but others cover several points in Spain, since they were captured from planes or coincide with the date and description in different locations.
To make this possible, in 1962, a physical copy was placed in the Central Library of the Air Force, in the General Headquarters of this army in Madrid.
Thanks to their digitization, they can be seen on the Internet, in the Defense Virtual Library.
Each file has a summary containing the place of the sighting, the date, the summary of the facts, the considerations, conclusions and the proposal for the classification or declassification of the file.
The first of the U̳F̳O̳ files consists of August 6, 1962 and is collected together with 2 more sightings on the 7th and 13th of the same month.
The Flight Officer of the San Javier Air Base, at 10:00 pm, observed a powerful light over Mount Cabezo, 500 meters high. He claimed that they looked like the landing lights of an airplane.
He thought it was a star, but after a few minutes, the light began to move rapidly laterally and vertically. Impossible moves for planes or helicopters.
The Ministry classified it as an “unexplained phenomenon”.
Some cases mentioned in the file
On December 9, 1968, in Almería, “a sighting of a luminous phenomenon” was recorded to the east and southwest. The file mentions a witness who described it as a U̳F̳O̳, but did not indicate details of shape, color, size, height, speed or others.
No further investigation was carried out, beyond the fact that it was found that there was no air traffic in the area.
On July 20, 1978, in the Rioja town of Agoncillo, a soldier from the aerodrome reported the sighting of a strange object flying at 1,000 meters. Its speed was low and it made no noise.
In Madrid, a sighting occurred on December 11, 1968. When 2 witnesses reported the presence of a very bright object with changes in light intensity.
The U̳F̳O̳ file closes without an investigation and indicates that it was a star, possibly Venus. He concluded as follows:
“It seems much more likely that it was due to the widespread psychosis during 1968 around the appearance of U̳F̳O̳s.”
Another of the declassified files is located in Galicia. It happened in Ferrol, on April 2, 1966. At 11:00 p.m., at the A Carreira radio station, a corporal who was on duty, a guard and 2 sailors, captured a voluminous object with opaque light that varied in shape each 5 minutes.
Other cases are mentioned in the U̳F̳O̳ Files declassified by the Spanish Ministry of Defense. Which shows that the Iberian country is not exempt from these strange events.
