A Video from APOLLO 8 Shows a “Cylindrical Object Expelling a Cloud of Smoke” on the Moon

The images featured in the August 2003 issue of Electric Space Craft, a science magazine, aroused enormous interest. The post contained an extraordinary series of frames taken from NASA images included in the TV show NOVA: To the Moon. The meaning of the images had only recently been realized.
As Apollo 8 orbited 70 miles (113 km) above the lunar surface, with Earth in the background, it took pictures of the ground below. At some point in the NOVA program, a small, tall, cylindrical black object appears to protrude from the moon.

In a frame of the Apollo 8 video visible in the NOVA documentary, below, you can see a small dark object on the lunar surface.
In fact, just as the Apollo 8 camera appears to be about to pass by, the strange object appears to release a jet-shaped cloud. It can be described as a funnel that expels a cloud of smoke. The “cloud” moves to the right and then dissipates. Although the black object appears small on the screen, it must be hundreds or thousands of feet tall if it is actually seen from such a high altitude.

In still images taken from the Apollo 8 video, you can see the anomaly that first appears near the center of the frame and then descends towards the lower left corner as the camera pans. Additional color images were sent to us from the scientific publication.
Electric Space Craft increased the sharpness and contrast of the black and white images to clarify the scene for print (however, you can see the actual film for yourself if you watch the NOVA: To the Moon documentary on YouTube (or DVD ) ) The magazine\’s executive director (and former Apollo engineer), Charles A. Yost, stated that the anomaly is clearer in the VHS version due to the DVD\’s digital compression.

Zooming in on the images, or rather the frames of the APOLLO 8 video that last for 3 to 4 seconds, you can see a cloud of smoke coming out of the black cylindrical object. Is it a funnel from a mining facility?
The object appears on the screen for two seconds (at minute 47.50), but it was not mentioned in the NOVA program. This was apparently not realized until it was identified by the Electric Space Craft team. At first glance the anomaly does not look like dirt (dust) on the film because it can be seen in many frames it changes when the camera\’s perspective is changed and produces the inexplicable cloud shape that floats and disappears. According to NASA, they did not have a color zoom camera on the Apollo 8 mission. The image in question shows clear evidence of a zoom. So unless there was a built-in camera that NASA kept a secret this zoom effect shouldn\’t be seen. There are people who claim that NASA had a lot of secret cameras on board, but if so, then why did this “secret” footage fall into NOVA\’s hands? It\’s curious that zooming in on a photograph creates such a strange anomaly and we\’d love to hear thoughts on what the anomaly could be.

The strange thing is that the Russians noticed this anomaly when they declared that they had seen smoke rising from the lunar surface during the Apollo 8 orbital journey. But NASA denied it. The chimney visible in NOVA\’s video is over 300 meters high. U̳F̳O̳ researchers are wondering if this structure is part of an e̳x̳t̳r̳a̳t̳e̳r̳r̳e̳s̳t̳r̳i̳a̳l̳ mining industrial complex located in Kepler Crater.
