Apollo Astronaut 1998 UFO Testimony Said ‘TE Visited’ and Did ESP Experiment in Space

Steven M. Greer has been an influential figure in levitating the importance of the study of UFOs, which are also known as UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena). Through his outreach program, he has brought to the public testimonies of dozens of government and military witnesses, who have learned about UFOs up close. Among them was Edgar Mitchell, an Apollo 14 astronaut who also witnessed and believed that UFOs are part of a larger reality.

In the book “Disclosure: Military and Government Witnesses Reveal the Greatest Secrets in Modern History”, Greer included the full testimony of Edgar Mitchell. The 1998 interview was shared with Greer by film director and UFO researcher James Fox.

In his testimony, Mitchell acknowledged the fact that there have been ET visits to Earth, as well as crashed craft and recovered materials and bodies. He never had any personal encounters with the phenomenon, but that didn’t weaken his belief. His sources were people who once had an affiliation with the government and certain government facilities.

Here is Mitchell’s testimony from the book (page 59): “My interest is basically what is the nature of the universe we live in? What is our relationship with the greater reality? If [UFOs] are part of the greater reality and we are denying it, that to me is inconceivable. I don’t live like this. I went to space to learn about the universe we live in, to gain new insights, to go beyond the limits of our known existence. And if these phenomena are indeed indicators of new information about the cosmos, and intelligent life in the cosmos, and our ability to travel the cosmos, then we must get to the bottom of it. It’s just my curiosity that moves me.

There seems to have been, for at least the last 50 years, a lot of secrecy surrounding so-called UFO events. It’s a very complex subject. We are not dealing with something very simple here. We have sightings of all kinds. We have been reporting thousands upon thousands of sightings for 50 years or more.

A large number of these sightings are, in fact, misinterpreting the natural phenomenon in some way. But a large number of them are not misperceiving. These are well-documented events that represent flying craft that don’t match anything we have in a terrestrial arsenal, which is an understatement to say that we validated in the public domain that they are ET craft. We have to trust people who have been there and interacted, they have first-hand data.

The only people I know of who claim to have been in that position are former intelligence, military and government officials, and some contractors whose official duties in the early days were to investigate this and know about it. These people were under, at that time, heavy restrictions and high security clearances that prevented them from telling the general public about it. It seems that period has long since passed, but they are still under security restrictions, or at least they believe they are.

Yes, there were ET visits. There was crashed ship. Materials and bodies were recovered. And there is some group of people somewhere who may or may not be associated with the government at this point, but certainly have been, who have that knowledge. They have tried to hide this knowledge or not allow it to be widely disseminated.

I cannot answer who these people are. But there is a lot of evidence that points to what I call a clandestine group – people who have some quasi affiliation with the government and certain government facilities, but operate in a very stealthy and secretive way that is usually not under high-level government control, as far as we can tell. For all I know, yes, there have been ET visitations and may continue to be. There were vessels that were recovered. There was a certain amount of reverse engineering that allowed some of these ships, or some components, to be duplicated. And that there are Earthlings who are utilizing some of this equipment in certain ways.”

Mitchell said the phenomenon has always been here but has been overlooked using disinformation to divert attention and create confusion so the truth doesn’t come out. He claimed that disinformation was used in the Roswell case: weather balloons over Roswell as opposed to some sort of crashed craft.

He said that ET visitation should be treated the same way humans landed on the Moon. He praised Greer’s initiative to organize 1997 Briefings for Congress, White House staff, the Pentagon and others. There were over a dozen government and military witnesses present who testified about what they saw personally related to UFO and ET matters.

Dr. Edgar Mitchell may be the only astronaut to conduct an ESP experiment in space, or openly declare that extraterrestrials could theoretically live on the moon. In 1973, he founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences to investigate what he considers to be one of the deepest mysteries of the universe – consciousness itself.

The ESP experiment was carried out on the round trip to Earth, but not to the Moon. “I planned with some fellow medical scientists who were interested in JB Rhine’s work. We decided, almost at the last moment, to set up our little psychic experiment. We plan to do the experiment six times, during my rest periods, both on the way out and on the way back,” Mithcell told Hpluse magazine in an interview. (Source)

The long-range ESP experiment he conducted during his personal time on the Apollo 14 voyage to and from the moon reinforced his interest in the frontiers of perception. He wrote sets of numbers and symbols during specific times, to see if four experimental subjects on Earth would write something similar.

The idea that telepathy exists hasn’t gained much traction in the scientific community, but Mitchell saw the results as promising. “The experiment convinced me that ESP could happen,” he writes in the book entitled “Earthrise.”

Mitchell has always been concerned about the sustainability of Planet Earth. He told NBC that “humanity’s push into space needs to be part of a bigger picture, with a focus on the sustainability of humanity and the rest of Earth’s species. I think a big problem on Earth right now is our lack of movement towards sustainability. We are not sustainable on this planet.” (Source)
