Mystery Phobos 2: Did Aliens Shoot Russian Ships While Orbiting Mars?

Mars has always been a hotspot for NASA\’s science programs to find evidence of a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ life in space. Its two moons like the red planet also draw attention. Over billions of years, meteor strikes have ejected large amounts of Mars quickly enough to launch this debris into orbit. Scientists are hopeful that organic molecules can be found on Phobos. They also hope to find fragments of chemical biosignatures, DNA fragments and fossilized microorganisms.

The Soviet Union launched two probes (Phobos 1, Phobos 2) in 1988 to study the moons of Mars. After the Phobos 2 probe captured an unknown object on the surface of Mars, the mission turned into a bizarre U̳F̳O̳ encounter.

Soviet scientists launched Phobos on July 1, 1988. It was lost two months later apparently due to a radio command error. While Phobos was launched five days later it safely entered Mars orbit in January 1989. So its mission was to join the rocky Mars satellite Phobos and explore it with highly sophisticated equipment.

Phobos is one of two moons that orbit Mars. The photo was taken at a press conference in 1991 at the Soviet Consulate in San Francisco. Image credit: Associated Press.

Everything went according to plan until March 27, 1989. That\’s when the Soviet Mission Control Center stopped receiving transmissions from Phobos 2. News later emerged that Phobos 2 was unable to communicate with Earth on schedule upon completion. of an operation around Phobos.

Boris Bolitsky was a science reporter for Radio Moscow who claimed that many unusual images had been sent back from Earth shortly before Phobos 2 lost radio communication.

They were said to show remarkable features. According to one report the features may have been found on the surface of Mars or in the lower atmosphere. They measured between 20 and 25 kilometers in length and did not resemble any known geological formation. They were described as having a fusiform shape and were intriguing.

A strange image of a thin shadow on Mars was shown on a segment of Russian television.

The shadow cast on the surface of Mars by Phobos\’ shadow was not the same as the shadow recorded by Mariner 9 18 years ago.

The photo transmitted by Phobos 2 showed an anomaly. It was a thin ellipse with sharp edges. According to some experts the shadow could be from something between the spacecraft and Mars as the planet\’s surface can be seen below.

The Russians claimed that the object was long and ellipsoid-shaped, measuring 25 km (approximately 15 miles) in length. Furthermore the Soviets did not suggest that the dark “thin ellipse” could have been a shadow of the moon.

One of the mission control rooms in Kaliningrad, Russia, determined that the probe was spinning. It looks like something hit or fired at the Phobos II Probe.

U̳F̳O̳ Magazine Vol. 7 Edition, 01 1992 by Don Ecker. 7 Edition, 01 1992 by the author named Don Ecker,

“The above print of an infrared photograph of the Martian moon Phobos accompanied by an alleged U̳F̳O̳ is being seen for the first time in a US publication. He stated that NASA was also involved in this mission.

Phobos II carried several European and American science packages on board, as well as a powerful Soviet laser. On-board equipment was used to analyze the gaseous products of the laser beam at Phobos. This activity was intended to help future missions to Mars. The grand finale would be a joint US/USSR mission to Mars.”

He also wrote: “The photo was first released on November 22, 1991 on the \’Larry King Live\’ show, when U̳F̳O̳ Research Director Don Ecker appeared on the show with author Keith Thompson.”

This is the supposed top-secret infrared image from the Soviet probe Phobos II that showed an object approaching the Martian Moon. According to estimates the U̳F̳O̳ was about 15% kilometers long. Furthermore the author discussed the incident mentioned by Zecharia Sitchin in his book “Genesis Revisited”.

In the book Sitchin included a photo released by the Russians that showed a large ellipse shadow reflected on Mars. Sitchin claimed that several photos Phobos sent back before he disappeared were never released by the Russians and that they treated the entire matter as “above secret”.

Ecker said that Dr. Marina Popvich (the former Soviet test pilot) claimed that the Phobos 2 photos were widely discussed by President Bush and Soviet S̳e̳c̳r̳e̳t̳ary General Mikhail Gorbachev at the Malta conference.

Is it a real or fake U̳F̳O̳? There are very few debunking stories on the Internet that blame bad data transmissions for the photo failure. They are still amateur explanations of the U̳F̳O̳ theory and should not be considered official. The anomaly has not been officially confirmed as a glitch or U̳F̳O̳. That\’s why this case remains unsolved.
