Why Aliens Have To Be Humanoids
The Bible says that man was created in God’s image. What about the E̳x̳t̳r̳a̳t̳e̳r̳r̳e̳s̳t̳r̳i̳a̳l̳s̳. What is the reason why our mental image is always of an a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ visiting us? Why do we see humanoids? Skeptics claim that such beings are very different from our physical form. Skeptics claim that popular images of ET are absurd. They believe that ET’s appearance on Earth is a result of humans putting their wishes for it onto ET’s body. According to Dr. Craig Freudenrich, ET is viewed as life as it is. He joked that for most of human history, a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s could only be performed by human actors wearing a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ costumes.
It’s difficult to have shapes other then humanoid. He says that a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s cannot be made to look too different from humans because the audience must recognize them. Psychologically, we are very adept at recognising humanoid shapes so an a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ that looks like a coffee table wouldn’t be very appealing to us. Freudenrich claims that bacteria and jellyfish are not acceptable to us. Instead, we prefer benign Klingons and little green guys. This is what we see when ET appears.
Science has taught us to reject the anthropocentric view. Since the Copernican Revolution, when the Earth was shown to be not the center of the universe, scientists have been doing this. Scientists work together to eliminate human values as they review observations. They hate their humanity. They believe science should not be about humans. We are told that there are very few chances that ET have intellect, and that even if ET exist, it is unlikely that they will resemble “humans”. Although we may not be the center of the universe but the pendulum has moved in the wrong direction. We shouldn’t be afraid to think about the obvious possibility, that ET might be extremely similar to ours!
ET visitors often arrive in human-like figures, which is a good thing. Because they must, ET visitors have heads, legs, four limbs, bilateral symmetry, and torsos. “Well, the A̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s could be green slimey globs – but if they’re coming here, hands and feet sure would be helpful!” A friend’s youngster thought the same thing
The kid is right. A̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ are most likely blobs, slithering creatures, and other inconceivable things that live on different planets. If the A̳l̳i̳e̳n̳ can leave its planet to visit us, however, it must be able to do so manually. To create things, it must be able articulate movement. For this, it will need to have digits with opposing digits. It would need limb-like parts to move around in the environment. To be understood, it must be seen. It has “hands,” arms, legs and eyes. And it needs structure – a “skeleton” or frame to keep it upright – and “skin” to keep what’s inside contained. Visitors are humanoids born out of necessity. No matter how intelligent a crab or cat may be, a crab or cat will ever be able move a spaceship through timespace. In a 2004 paper, Dr. Ulrich Walter from Columbia, an astronaut and physicist makes a convincing case for the Space Shuttle. He challenges conventional scientific thinking about ET’s appearance. He states that no matter what angle you take on the topic, the only possible option is the version realized by the human race. He explores the reasons carbon chemistry (or organic chemistry) has been so important in the evolution of life. ET can’t be more different than Earthly life when it comes to basic ingredients. Stereoscopic vision and hand eye coordination would be required for space-faring organisms. Dr. Walter stated that any sentient ET life would consist of “flesh”, an aggregate of watery cells reproducing, and “blood”, a liquid that transports necessary substances. The “flesh and blood” of a humanoid. Dr. Walter concludes ET’s functional equivalents are identical to ours. The only question left is “where are these components?”
Answered the question, “What would ET look like?” Another child answered, “They can be any thing.” He too is right. There are advanced and A̳n̳c̳i̳e̳n̳t̳ beings if the world is full of sentient life. Adaptation is what makes people survive. They have been able to look however they like over the centuries thanks to technology. If something is sufficiently a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳, it may take any form. It might not want to be considered alive or sentient. They can make their shape whatever they want. It was “self-engineered.” Visitors from a̳l̳i̳e̳n̳s would need to be able to change their shape to maximize all environments. ET’s appearance and craft can change as well. ET’s fundamental nature is humanoid regardless of their appearance. We recognize ET’s form because they share a common ancestral lineage. We have a common ancestor. One day we will do the same thing as them. Truth be told, both Man (and Visitor) represent God’s infinite image, rendering the term “A̳l̳i̳e̳n̳” meaningless.
