On October 4, 1967, a large unidentified object reportedly crashed into the waters near Shag Harbour, a small fishing community in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia.
Several Canadian government civil and military organizations – including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canadian Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force – investigated the impact.
To try to find the remains of all related objects, the RCN has conducted at least one underwater survey.
No known aircraft were involved, according to the Canadian government, and the cause of the impact is still unknown.
It is one of the rare instances where official government documentation states that an unidentified flying object was involved. Interviews with other military witnesses, including an RCN diver involved in the hunt, supported his claims that an alien craft was to blame.
Several of the witnesses also stated that members of the US military participated in the search. The US Condon UFO Study Committee also conducted a brief investigation into the matter, but did not provide any explanation.
The Rendlesham Forest event refers to a series of observations of mysterious lights and the alleged arrival of one or more unidentified objects in Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk, England, in late December 1980, near RAF Woodbridge, which was then used by the US Air Force. 🇧🇷
Numerous incidents over the course of two or three days were witnessed by dozens of USAF personnel. It is among the best known UFO events to have ever occurred and is Britain’s best known UFO occurrence.
It has been compared to the Roswell UFO incident in the United States, along with the Berwyn Mountain UFO encounter, and is often referred to as “British Roswell”.
The Ministry of Defense (MoD) stated that the incident was never subjected to a security investigation as it posed no threat to the nation’s security.
Further information revealed a sizeable MoD file on the matter, which led to accusations of a cover-up. Some perceived this as part of a larger trend of information about the true nature of unexplained flying objects being held up in the United States.

Another was Lord Peter Hill-Norton, former NATO Supreme and head of the UK’s armed forces, who claimed that what happened at this USAF facility was inevitably necessary for national security. The archive, however, turned out to be mostly internal communications and responses to public inquiries when it was made public in 2001.
